A family owned tree nursery committed to quality and sustainability
Copper Beech Ventures is a well established tree nursery nestled in the fertile Fraser Valley of British Columbia. We grow premium grade caliper Beech trees as well as other varieties, while placing an emphasis on the quality and health of our soil and trees.
Our tree farm
Our tree farm started in 2014, with a couple of acres of grafted and hedging Beech planted as a means of supporting our growing family of young daughters. Having both worked in the horticulture industry in our youth, we had all but forgotten the grounded feeling associated with nurturing plants in soil. After selling out of our first crop of trees, we decided to acquire more land and expand our tree farm.
With the passing of time, we’ve become increasingly inspired by nature and convinced that healthy soil is essential for healthy trees, so our attention to detail and care begins with the intentional study and nurture of the soil, resulting in resilient shade trees for all seasons.
The European Beech has been used as hedging for thousands of years. Today, the oldest known Fagus Sylvatica hedge is in Perthshire, Scotland. Planted in 1745, this hedgerow is 530 metres long and 30 metres tall! While our hedging Beech are nowhere near as old or as large, they will form an equally beautiful and hardy backdrop for your next landscape project. Staked straight for their first few years of growth, pruned and sheared multiple times to encourage fuller branching, our beautiful trees will provide year-round interest in the demanding climate of central Canada.
